It All Started with a Question
What Else Can We Do with Our Structural Aluminum?
Our president, David Battel, was already part of a successful entity working with Bob Naegele’s Athletica, maker of CheckFlex flexible boards for hockey rinks. After years of development on structural aluminum construction materials, they decided to look for other uses. After floating several concepts, the idea they kept coming back to was decks. The light weight and strength made it ideal for outdoor product construction. Initially we built decks for residential homes—new construction and renovation. We had initial success as composite wood was trending, and our AlumiLAST® frame was the perfect foundation for creating long-lasting low maintenance deck systems. We were even a featured product in partnership with Home Depot.
Changing Our Focus
Through the years, our focus has changed as our clients asked us to take on larger multi-unit projects. The economies of scale made it a logical choice. We worked hard to create products and styles which utilize our AlumiLAST® frames while incorporating aluminum decking with a variety of railings and installation techniques custom altered to each client's needs. We have also created a number of additional products based on client requests: pergolas, sun shades, specialty railings and more.
Now, nearly 15 years later, we have grown to a staff of 50—engineering, designing and producing all our decks in our factory in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our services for you include CAD drawings, structural engineering, value engineering, design and installation supervision, as well as training. Our executive team is ready to work with you to meet your needs. We’re just real people that work in your best interest.
