TRADITIONAL LOOK & FEEL, ULTRA-MODERN DESIGN The Lighthouse Spa & Hotel in Büsum is located right next to the 100-year-old lighthouse - between the museum harbour and the dyke promenade. The building houses 111 rooms and suites, a wellness area and three restaurants. The design of the hotel complex takes up the traditional architecture of the harbour houses commonly found in the region. The building has a correspondingly small-scale and heterogeneous design. The organic, grown character of the structure is consistently continued inside. Each of the three restaurants and all 19 suites was developed in collaboration with different partners and is characterised by a unique interior design style. This conceptual approach resulted in extensive requirements for the visual characteristics, formats and functional features of the windows used. In addition, the unique location of the new building directly on the dyke not only affords guests breathtaking views of the open sea - the wind also hits the building envelope unhindered. The entire complex was fitted with windows made from VEKA SOFTLINE 82 profiles to fulfil the high visual and structural requirements. Additional steel reinforcements and more strikers and locking points than usual were used in the profiles. This allows the window system to compensate for an additional load of 50 %. The VEKA SPECTRAL surface finish is used in the Lighthouse Hotel & Spa. It offers the possibility of transferring the interior design principle to the windows in terms of colour - individually for each room. The high-quality feel and the easy-care, extremely matt finish of the surface are perfect for supporting the traditional maritime cosiness of the house. VEKA, the hardware manufacturer ROTO and the window manufacturer HARDER worked closely together to select the right hardware.
