In order to develop the use of straw in public and private procurement, the European UP STRAW program was managed by the CNCP (National Center for Construction in Paille) and its French partner Odéys.
As part of this project, 12 walls representative of straw construction were designed and documented by the companies Eco-Etudes et (jö), MARG'ECO BIM, Miga arquitectura.
These walls are easily used by those involved in the construction industry in order to design and build straw buildings with contemporary digital tools.
The descriptions of these walls, described in 3D and commented on in French, English and Spanish, contain the list of materials used, the environmental and thermal performance levels estimated with the cocon-bim software.
This information is described by reading sheets (.pdf, docx format) and available in “BIM files” (skp, rvt, pln format) which can be imported into software such as Archicad, ArchLine, Sketchup, Revit, etc.) .
The Center National de la Construction Paille (CNCP-Feuillette) is an association created in 2013 whose purpose is to safeguard the architectural heritage of the Feuillette house and its shed, the first insulated straw wood-frame house known to date. A national and European resource and exchange center, it participates in the promotion and enhancement of straw material, develops training, research and development actions in the construction of green buildings.
