OKHOLM LIGHTING was founded on 14 December 1932 in Copenhagen under the name 'E. Thomsens Metalvarefabrik' (Metal Goods Factory). The primary tasks at that time were the production of classic chandeliers made in brass and also brazier work. Hanne og Robert Okholm took over E. Thomsens Metalvarefabrik in 1973, and renamed it Scan Metal. At the same time the company moved to Toender, which is also the domicile of the company’s head office today. In 2003 Scan Metal celebrated its 30th anniversary. In September 2004 the company was renamed OKHOLM LIGHTING A/S – a modern and flexible lighting company.
