Founded in 1937 in Milan, Mapei is today one of the most important producers of adhesives and complementary products for laying all types of floor and wall and coating materials, and is also specialised in other chemical products used in the building industry, such as waterproofing products, special mortars, admixtures for concrete, products for underground constructions and for the restoration of concrete and historical buildings. Mapei has built its strategy following three main guidelines: specialisation in the world of building by offering certified products and systems to meet the requirements of clients and market demand; internationalisation to be more in tune with local needs and to reduce transport costs to a minimum; Research and Development, which receives the most support from the Company in terms of both investments and human resources.
