Lappset are experts in the game, known for its consistent and open-minded way to develop new solutions. We want to give the joy of play to people of all ages.
Our story began in the northern part of Finnish Lapland almost forty years ago. In 1968, when Lappset founder, Antero Ikäheimo, first started developing the idea of a warmer and softer play environment.
He wanted the children to have wooden toys - and not just the rides and climbing frames of metal that was in vogue at the time. He wanted to create a new kind of play environment where children independently could climb around and enjoy themselves with the equipment, which simultaneously would give them greater strength and help them develop the sense of balance. But Antero also wanted to make the equipment so funny that physical exercise would literally be a breeze.
