(5 reviews)The height-adjustable hygiene chair is suitable for both the private bathroom and the central bathing area, and is designed to assist residents with a mobility level of Barbara or Carl. Barbara can sit down in the shower chair and do a lot of the showering by herself, whereas Carl requires more assistance and is transferred in and out of the chair via a standing and raising aid.
The reclining feature and leg-rests ensure comfort and safety for the resident as well as the best possible working posture for the carer during showering, hair washing and pedicure. Adequate clearance beneath the seat makes it possible to position the shower chair over the toilet, which saves space. The floor should be made of a slip- resistant material, be free of bumps and not have a gradient of more than 1:50 toward the drain. An incline greater than this may cause the chair to roll if the brakes have not been applied.
The dark blue area denotes the required working area to facilitate hygiene and transfer activities and provide adequate access for the resident, equipment and assisting carer.
