The Citadel™ Plus Bariatric bed is for bariatric population. Maintaining patient dignity is vitally important for caregivers. This is especially so for patients of size who dislike the extra attention and perceived stigma associated with use of specialist bariatric equipment while in the hospital. As healthcare facilities treat a rising number of plus size patients, the need for specialist products and care processes has become increasingly necessary. Citadel Plus is a purpose built bariatric bed, designed to deliver value, and safe dignified care for plus size patients and their caregivers. Built on the same universal medical bed platform as other Arjo hospital beds, Citadel Plus benefits from consistent use of technology, user interfaces and accessories which helps reduce training and service requirements for staff, and increases economies of scale and value to healthcare facilities. As the aesthetics are visually consistent with other Arjo beds used in the care environment, Citadel Plus is difficult to distinguish as a bariatric product to help preserve patient dignity while delivering the functionality required to manage patients weighing up to 454 kg (1000 lbs). With features such as variable bed width expansion designed to comfortably accommodate different size patients and Power Drive* helping to reduce both effort required and risk of injury when bed and patient transport are necessary, Citadel Plus provides a great solution for the heart of a bariatric care program. Citadel™ Plus Bariatric bed features and benefits Power Drive*   Citadel Plus bariatric bed power drive facilitates one person transport of patients weighing up to 454 kg (1000 lbs) depending on hospital protocol. VariZone Patient Movement and Exit Detection This state-of-the-art technology can help alert caregivers to unplanned patient egress from the bed. With a choice of ten settings, alert sensitivity can be altered to suit patient and caregiver requirement. AES (Anti-Entrapment System) AES detects obstructions under the sleep deck during bed articulation and stops the downward movement of the medical bed to help prevent injury to a person or damage to other equipment. Variable Width and Length  Citadel Plus bariatric bed incorporates 3 width expansion options from 86.4cm (34 in) to 121.9cm (48 in). Variable width and length provides flexibility to accommodate different size patients and enables easier access through doorways and in elevators during transport. Width adjustment is always available even during power outages. SafeSet* Provides visual alerts on 4 bed safety conditions to help staff provide a safe environment especially for those patients identified at risk from falls:   side rail position brake status hospital bed height if VariZone is armed   Integrated weigh scale Easy to use weigh scale weighs up to 454kg (+/- 500g). The Auto-Compensation feature allows objects to be added or removed without impacting the patient’s weight reading. Patient weight is visually displayed for 10 seconds only to help protect patient dignity. Head of bed angle indicator Digital head of bed angle indicator provides clear information to assist caregivers in appropriate patient positioning. Automatic pause at 30 degree head elevation helps remind caregivers when this important angle has been reached. One Button Chair Position The Citadel Plus can be articulated into a chair position lowering the legs and abdomen to help improve patient comfort. AtmosAir™ Plus*   Designed specifically for Citadel Plus, the surface helps provide skin protection for plus size patients. The pressure redistribution surface uses Self Adjusting Technology™ to automatically adjust cushion pressures in response to patient movement.   Sloped heel section with visco-elastic foam helps transfer weight off the vulnerable heel area Mattress size can be adjusted from 86.4 cm (34 in) to 121.9 cm (48 in) wide and from 202 cm (80 in) to 224 cm (88 in) in length. This provides an appropriate sized surface to accommodate  patient need. Durable, waterproof, moisture vapour permeable cover with multidirectional stretch to help reduce skin shear and friction.   Skin IQ® 1000*   Microclimate Manager (MCM) provides a simple, effective solution for managing the skin microclimate of bariatric patients weighing up to 454kg (1000 lbs). An optional single patient use powered mattress cover that utilises state of the art Negative Air Flow Technology™ to assist in managing the moisture, heat and humidity (microclimate) of the patient’s skin. Skin IQ 1000 can be used with a suitable bariatric pressure redistribution surface to help prevent and treat pressure injury.
