The Coloradan | Denver, CO

Alpine LedgeGuard 1.5 gets its name from the 1.5” width of the extrusion that Alpine cut to house two rods. It is an excellent low-profile option for façades that can also accommodate casement windows. Alpine SnowGuards’ LedgeGuard was introduced in 2019 as a snow guard solution to the risk of falling ice and snow from high-rise city buildings onto busy sidewalks and streets below. The product has proven its strength and performance after rigorous pre-launch testing and almost three years of installations in US cities known for perilous weather patterns. Alpine LedgeGuard-1.5 was included in GBD Architects’ design to mitigate the risk of falling ice and snow from the façade and recessed windows of this mid-rise 334-unit condominium in Denver, Colorado. The Coloradan, a LEED Gold-certified building, is 19 stories, approximately 200' high and comprises 695,000 total square feet.
