    The FLAT-5XL roof tile is an example of the innovation, development and improvement of Tejas Borja’s products. Flat-5XL, a BorjaEXTREM product, represents all the advances in the clay roof tile industry worldwide. Manufactured through a roller kiln process using ceramic clay with very low water absorption, less than 3% (> Klinker), Tejas Borja produces the largest clay roof tile. Using gypsum moulds, we obtain great definition in all the details of the tile with great compact clay. The result is a perfectly flat clay roof tile, which complies for mountain climate, high resistant and very safe. The Flat-5XL roof tile is exclusive to Tejas Borja, unique in the world and a truly revolutionary product. It is being used for pitched roofs and ventilated façades. With a high performance in installation (5 units/sq.m.) and wide range of finishes, is the roof tile able to meet the requirements for any project. FLAT-5XL BorjaJET is a product award-winning of Red Dot Award: Product Design 2019. BorjaJET is the new Inkjet technology, the digital printing system allows us to create finishes never used before in clay roof tile industry. It is a finishing process developed in Tejas Borja, unique in the world. Since ancient times stone has been one of the most-used construction materials. Builders have tried to capture the essence of their times in stone. Today stone is most commonly used for cladding, but with the Austin Grey (Ceramic Stone series) it’s possible to create a ceramic roof with the colours of natural stone.

    • The Flat-5XL is the largest clay roof tile, perfectly flat format. It has VARIABLE batten distance and it can be installed in a continuous or staggered formation. Flat-5XL is a product certified by Aenor and complies to mountain climate. Characteristics of the Flat-5XL roof tile per unit: • Length: 457 mm • Width: 510 mm • Weight: 6.55 kg/ roof tiles • Units per sq.m.: 5,5 roof tiles • Batten distance - VARIABLE: 340 – 385 mm • Units per eave line: 2 roof tiles • Minimum slope recommended: 35% - 19º (*) • Useful width: 476 mm • Pack: 2 roof tiles Tejas Borja recommends dry installation for Flat-5XL roof tile, using screws or special roofing adhesive. The Flat-5XL roof tile has pre-marked holes specially designed for screw installation. If the roof tiles are installed on battens, the useful length must be calculated on site. A tolerance of ± 2% is allowed on the dimensions of the roof tiles according to UNE-EN 1024. To ensure the good performance of the roof, the under-tile ventilation is always necessary. This will guarantee the durability of the Flat-XL roof tiles used to build up the roof with their optimal characteristics, improving the hygrothermal performance of the roof against the moisture resulting from condensation. Installation must comply with Code of practice for the design and fixing of roofs with clay roofing tiles for the region and Tejas Borja specifications. (*) In zone 1 (protected area), arranged in staggered formation with waterproof laminate and batten distance of 340 mm on a skirt of up to 6.5 m. Check pitch panel according to the roof length and the geographical area according to UNE-EN 136020.
