- Double workstation series
The double workstation series must combine the benefits of a bench – promotion of workstation communication – with the ergonomic advantages of a single workstation with motorised adjustment – individual height adjustment in the sitting/standing range.
Based on a joint frame platform, individual height adjustment of the two work surfaces must be possible. It must be possible to create classic bench configurations by linking up several double workstation units. The double workstation series must offer intelligent electrification options both for basic connection and the individual electrification of a single workstation.
Frame system
The frame must be based on a beam solution consisting of a double support beam and bolted desktop supports which are also used as side panels. The motors and the control must be optimally framed by the double support beams. The high-strength connection of the leg frames with the frame must be achieved by means of a stable screw system with 6 screws in order to ensure optimal force transmission into the frame system.
The frame system of the double workstation units must have a gap of 100 mm between desktops.
The following double workstations must be available:
desktops with a depth of 700 mm – 1500 mm total depth
desktops with a depth of 800 mm – 1700 mm total depth
desktops with a depth of 900 mm – 1900 mm total depth
Leg frames
The double workstation programme must include the following height adjustment options:
Motorised height adjustment:
- Stroke length 630 mm with double telescope
- Diameter of the round supporting column H-frame 76 mm
A workstation with motorised height adjustment must feature two control columns each with a drive. A double workstation unit with motorised height adjustment thus has a total of 4 drives. The motors are to be assembled in steel housings at the upper end of the control columns; these are connected securely to the frame system for optimum transmission of force to the frame. The smooth sliding guide must ensure that the double telescope runs safely and guarantee a high level of stability. The desk columns must be connected to form an H-frame using a cross member. The H-frame offers optimal leg room for users particularly when the double bench units are arranged in a row.
The leg frames must be equipped with adjustment glides to balance out uneven floors.
Desktops
The following linear worktops must be available for the double workstation programme:
- Widths: 1400, 1600, 1800, 2000 mm
The desktops must have 90° corners as standard. Optionally, it must be possible to have rounded corners with a radius of r=50.
Substrate
The desktops must be available as 19 mm thick three-layer chipboard with melamine resin finish or veneer.
The use of three-layer chipboard must be appropriate to the substrate compliant with EN 312-2003.
With regard to formaldehyde emissions, the coated particle boards must comply with standard E05 according to EN 717-1.
