Architectural Masonry Units - Rustic Face

The texture on the face of this block is generated by blasting small pellets at the surface of the unit. This process delivers a time-worn, weathered appearance that lends a building an easy-living “coastal” feel.

Rustic Face masonry units are manufactured in the same variety of sizes and shapes as our other architectural block and comes in a variety of colors.

Rustic Face masonry units conform to ASTM C90 standard specification for loadbearing units and can be used as a single-wythe wall or as a veneer. Like other concrete masonry units, it is fire resistant, thermally efficient, sound absorbing and offers a lifetime of beauty with very little maintenance required.

Specification

Rustic Face CMU features a textured face block generated by blasting pellets at the surface of the unit. This “shot blasting” produces a final product that leaves the larger pieces of aggregate in place while the very fine sandy portion of the surface is removed. This effect provides a weathered, rustic appearance to a building envelope, and delivers a more consistent appearance versus traditional split face finishes.

Rustic Face masonry units conform to ASTM C90 standard specification for loadbearing units and can be used as a single-wythe wall or as a veneer. Additionally, all units contain integral water repellent for moisture and efflorescence control. Rustic Face units can be provided with any face finished (front, back, or either end), depending on your project needs.

Production capabilities include all typical CMU sizes and shapes including:
- 4x8x16, 6x8x16, 8x8x16, 10x8x16 and 12x8x16 in hollow and solid units.
- 4x8x24, 4x12x24, 4x16x24, 4x12x12 and 4x16x16 solid units.
- Specialty shapes such as bond beams, sills, insulated units, accoustical units, etc.
