For years, our stairs have set the standard for modern, minimalist design.

Our new FLIGHT Cantilever system takes minimalism to the max. With a hidden, side-mounting stringer and absolutely no visible hardware or supports, our cantilever stairs make it seem as if your treads are jutting out from the wall. Paired with a glass railing, this stair system can make a major impact on your space with almost no footprint.

How does it work?


Our steel Cantilever brackets bolt into LVL studs and interlock with each other to provide a wobble-free experience at every step. Then you simply add plywood reinforcement on each side of the wall. We’ll help you engineer everything to bring the magic of Cantilever to your project.

  • Cantilever Rules

    Viewrail maintains certain standards and requirements that must be met. If these requirements are not reached, Viewrail will not be able to produce a Cantilever system for the client. Please verify the project meets our standard rules:

    • Max Tread Width - 48”, measured wall to inside of glass
    • Max Tread Depth - 13”
    • Min Tread Depth - 11.25”
    • Min Tread Thickness - 4.25”
    • Code Compliance - Follows IRC, IBC, & ICC Standards on the rise
    • Railing - Always Vedera Glass, no other option
      • 1/2” tempered
      • 9/16” laminate
    • Nosing - At 1.5”
    • Landings - Made up of a row of standard brackets
      • Straight Landing is normal with glass offering structural support
      • 90° landing adds a piece of steel across the face of the treads to absorb load
    • Wall: Cannot act as a structural wall for house
      • We do not recommend running utilities in the wall
      • Can run electric in the wall with moderate difficulties
