GEL+VEA/VEB/VEC are elements to make the VELUX Roof Terrace. GEL is the upper element which is placed in the sloping roof, VEA/VEB & VEC are lower elements installed vertically below the upper element. The system is suitable for roof pitches between 35-53°.
GEL is a top-hung roof window which is operated from a handle on the bottom of the sash. The sash can remain open in any position up to an angle of 45°. There is a ventilation flap along the top sash of the window which allows fresh air to enter the room. For ease of cleaning of the outer glass pane, the window can also be operated as a centre-pivot.
VEA is a side hung, outward opening vertical element which is operated from a handle on the side of the sash. It opens to the right (when viewed from inside). VEB is almost identical to the VEA except that it opens to the left (when viewed from inside). VEC is a fixed element that cannot be opened.
Because of structural considerations, a roof terrace system can only contain one opening vertical element.
The frame and sash are made of high-quality laminated pinewood coated with impregnation and layers of water-based acrylic clear lacquer of white paint.
Externally the window has maintenance-free cover parts.
