Low Intensity, High Output, True Two-Stage Infrared Tube Heaters shall adjust both air and gas to maintain a constant fuel to air ratio at both high and low fire operating conditions in order to maintain the highest efficiency and radiant output. Heavy-duty industrial/commercial indoor/outdoor low-profile infrared heater featuring the best overall performance in the industry. Firing rates as called for in the Contract documents within the range of 38.5/80 MBH at the high fire to 23.5/50 MBH at low fire. Baffles required as per manufacturer’s instructions. The product shall be Model ETSV, designed and approved for rugged, harsh environments or outdoor use as manufactured by Superior Radiant Products/IR Energy. The burner shall operate at a minimum gas inlet pressure of 5.0 inches W.C. (natural gas) or 11.5 inches W.C. (propane) and draw no more than 1 Amp at 120VAC, 60Hz. Burner shall be compatible with both 120 VAC or 24 VAC automatic controls, and manual controls as specified in the contract documents. Burner head shall be chrome-plated steel to prevent corrosion. Burner controls shall be factory-assembled, piped, and wired, and shall be separated from the combustion air stream to allow service and diagnostic control checks while burner is operating. Burner control box shall be heavy-duty Type 409 stainless steel and Alloy 1100 aluminum hybrid construction. Reflector shall be a deep dish, marine-grade ASTM 5052 aluminum, polished one side, and shall extend below the lowest position of the tubing at all times. The reflector shall be 10-sided design reflecting 100% of the infrared energy out and away from the emitter tubes and shall incorporate a patent-applied system to allow tube expansion and contraction within the fixed mounting point suspension of the heater during operations. Reflectors with fewer surfaces allow energy to bounce back to the main heat exchanger tubing and shall not be allowed. Heaters shall be designed for low profile height to minimize ceiling space utilized when mounting heater. Heater profile shall not exceed 7” depth to allow close mounting to space supports. Combustion Tube shall be 4-inch (102 mm) diameter, 16 gauge, heat-treated type 1 aluminized steel tubing for all firing rates and shall incorporate a welded, 11-gauge steel, 4 bolt flange to fully support and orient the burner to the tube as designed. Emitter Tubes shall be 4-inch (102 mm) diameter, minimum 16-gauge thickness, and shall be heat treated Type 1 aluminized steel. 3” diameter emitter tubing shall not be allowed as it has an insufficient radiant surface area to provide high radiant output. Couplings shall be 16-gauge aluminized steel, minimum 12 inches in length, and be of heavy-duty design incorporating two 1-inch wide draw bands. Couplings shall be torqued to 15 to 25 ft-lb at installation. This product was specified based on best practice design to meet the specific engineered design criteria for this project. Substitutions are discouraged. Any submission for substitution must include the following material for consideration, or bid will be deemed unqualified and rejected:
- Professional Engineer Stamped Design, calculations, and complete set of stamped drawings with new system.
- Stamped fuel usage data showing a minimum 20% fuel savings over specified Superior Radiant/IR Energy Model.
- Verification that Manufacturer successfully completed and passed the auditing requirements for ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
