Symmetrically formed sandwich panels made from a stable rigid polystyrene or rock wool backing, a lead sheet of variable thickness and two solid sheets of synthetic phenolic resin, thermosetting and homogeneously reinforced with cellulose fibres, as the outer finish.
The thickness of the resin plates is 3 mm, being the total thickness of I pane 1 5 2/6 0 mm (standard dimensions). The internal and external phenolic resin plates are completely separated, thus avoiding possible thermal bridges.
The phenolic resin finish gives the panel qualities such as high resistance to impact and scratching, good stability over time, resistance to environmental conditions and to cleaning and disinfection agents, as well as an added aesthetic value, as it allows the possibility of choosing from a wide variety of colours.
The type of interior support can be EPS or rock wool; polystyrene provides the sandwich panel with other specific characteristics such as: low weight, high rigidity and excellent thermal and acoustic insulation. The rock wool adds a good behaviour to the fire.
The lead plate acts as a special insulator for radioactivity and allows the panel to serve as a radiation protection
element.
