The Eurapo UCS/HM 600 VDI 6022 cassette is a hydronic terminal unit certified according to the VDI 6022 * guidelines, which requires air conditioning and heating systems and related components to comply with the highest and most restrictive hygiene standards. Compliance with the aforementioned standard guarantees better quality of the treated air: the technical solutions adopted and the extreme scruple (accuracy) in the selection of materials prevent the proliferation of pathogens (such as fungi and bacteria) inside the unit and make healthier also the environment in which it is installed. The guidelines of the VDI 6022 standard define the criteria for ensuring maximum hygiene in HVAC systems. By raising the quality standard of the treated air, negative effects are prevented in the rooms served, protecting the health of users. In creating UCS/HM 600 VDI 6022, Eurapo has managed to meet the requirements of the described standard both by adopting advanced mechanical design criteria and by using top performance materials.   • Thanks to the development of different details and the choice of materials with high quality standards used for the construction, UCS/HM 600 VDI 6022 model has obtained the certification according to VDI 6022* guidelines. UCS/HM 600 VDI 6022 model is characterized by the particular vertical development of the unit (the height goes from the traditional 287 mm to 483 mm): for this reason, installation is recommended in case of false ceilings at least 500 mm high. MAIN STRUCTURE The main structure of the cassette is made of 10/10 mm galvanized sheet metal, completely insulated internally with aluminised thermal insulation material. The condensate drain pan is made of plastic (corrosion-resistant material) and is easily accessible for cleaning. The internal surfaces of the unit that are in direct contact with the treated air (i.e. the air downstream of the cooling coil) are all tested according to the indications of ISO 846 **; in this way, the non-proliferation of microbial flora and fungi is ensured within the unit itself. The seals are closed cell and do not absorb moisture so as not to provide an environment conducive to the propagation of microorganisms harmful to human health, also all the seals in direct contact with the treated air are tested according to ISO 846. To facilitate cleaning and disinfection of the internal surfaces as much as possible, the sides of the unit are smooth and round, without permeable areas and the bottom of the unit has no grooves or joints that can make cleaning difficult. The main structure includes 4 fixing brackets, supplied separately, which can be positioned on special slots on two sides of the structure, both on the upper and lower part of the side. WATER COILS The water coils are made of copper pipes and aluminium fins, bent for 360°. 3 rows heat exchangers are surface treated (hydrophilic aluminum). The surface treatment on the fins permits to have a better condensing water discharge from the fins themselves and a perfect air passage through the heat exchanger, with reduced pressure drops and a high dehumidification and efficiency of the coil. The hexagonal brass water connections have diameter ¾” G female on the cooling coil and diameter ½” G female on the heating coil (4 pipe system). A particular internal fixing system of the coil’s header reduces excessive torsion problems and damages on the copper pipes. Max operating pressure: 16 bar. Min/max water temperature: 5/85 °C. A drain valve is located beneath the coil’s headers in order to completely discharge the water from the coil, when the unit does not work for a long period of time. The air bleed is done by loosening slightly the water inlet union. FAN DECK The fan deck, installed in a central position, is composed by a centrifugal fan motor and a plastic impeller. The single phase electric motor has a permanently connected capacitor and thermal protection of the windings. The single speed motor is connected to an autotransformer, to provide six available speeds, three of them factory wired as standard. The motor is suitable for 50/60Hz operation. Power supply: 230V ±6%. ELECTRIC PANEL The electric box (QEC00) is made of galvanized steel containing a 12 poles terminal board with screws terminals, the grounding terminal, autotransformer and capacitor. The electric panel is located on the side of the unit, same side of the water connections. Every cassette unit is provided with an electric wiring diagram showing all the electrical accessories supplied with the unit. The full respect of the wiring diagram is necessary for a good functioning of the unit. CONDENSATE PUMP Not present. The UCS/HM 600 VDI 6022 ccassette has been designed to allow the discharge of condensate water naturally, by gravity, avoiding stagnation of water and the installation of the traditional condensate pump. AIR FILTER The filter supplied with the cassette is 55% ePM1 classified: it is capable of retaining up to 55% of particles ranging in size from 0.1 μm to 0.3 μm (classification according to ISO 16890). The choice is an improvement compared to the minimum standard required by the VDI 6022 certification which provides for a 50% ePM10 filter for hydronic terminals that work with recirculated air (such as fan coil units and cassettes); filtration class: F7. AIR INTAKE GRILLES The intake grille is in 10/10 thick sheet metal, painted with epoxy powders (RAL9003).   ACCESSORIES CONTROL VALVES A wide choice of regulating valves is available, factory fitted: 2 way or 3 way valves, actuators ON/OFF 230V, ON/OFF 24V, MODULATING 0-10V (24V), PIV (pressure independent valves). The following items are part of the valve kit, supplied loose: shut-off full bore ball valves (DT), to separate the unit from the piping system if maintenance is required, one ABS heat resistant auxiliary drain pan. ELECTRIC HEATER Stainless steel 1,5 kW electric heater with relay card (QEC20), supplied with 2 safety thermostats, one with automatic reset and the other with manual reset. Cassette units with electric heater are lined internally with heat resistant aluminized insulating material. SPECIAL COLOURS Special RAL colours for the intake/outlet grilles are available, upon request. REGULATION A wide choice of electronic regulators is available upon request: from the simple fan speed selector to microprocessor controls, to OMNIBUS digital controllers. Sensors compatible to microprocessor controls and OMNIBUS: - Water sensor, having function of minimum water temperature thermostat or Summer/Winter changeover switch - Air sensor at the air intake of the unit - Check sensor at the air outlet of the unit (OMNIBUS controls only), to detect and provide malfunction alarms.
