Roof Hatch - Fall Protection Railing System

Bil-Guard® 2.0 is a patented fixed railing system that provides a permanent means of fall protection around roof hatch or smoke vent openings. Tested and proven to meet and exceed OSHA fall protection standards, the Bil-Guard 2.0 incorporates a standard self-closing gate to ensure that the fall protection barrier is maintained and OSHA compliance is preserved.

Uses and Applications The Bil-Guard 2.0 is designed to fit all brands of roof hatches and automatic fire vents that have capflashing. The railing system can be easily installed on new or existing hatches in the field. 

Assembly and Installation The Bil-Guard 2.0 features an innovative attachment system that does not penetrate the roofing membrane. The product installs quickly and easily using basic tools and does not require special training or certification for proper installation. The attachment system features a quick-mount bracket for a fast and secure attachment and a pivoting mounting sleeve for added installation flexibility. 

Materials and Finishes Posts and rails are 1¼” schedule 40 pipe in 6061 T6 aluminum alloy. Curb mounting brackets and teardrop brackets are 6063 T5 aluminum extrusion. Locking mechanism is cast aluminum and spring hinges and all fasteners are type 316 stainless steel. Hatch rail system satisfies the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.23 and meets OSHA strength requirements. Finish shall be safety yellow powder coat paint finish.

Codes and Certifications The Bil-Guard 2.0 Hatch Railing System satisfies the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.23 and meets OSHA strength requirements with a factor of safety of two. All BILCO products are designed to provide many years of trouble-free service. Manufacturer shall provide a 5-year warranty against defects in material and workmanship.
