Window AWS 75 BS.HI+WoodDesign, Inward opening

Aluminium block window system with a basic depth of 75 mm, a timber surface finish inside, extremely narrow face widths and a concealed vent with no visible glazing beads

The Schüco AWS 75 BS.HI+ WoodDesign (Block System High Insulated) window system for a basic depth of 75 mm is part of the Schüco AWS system platform and unites the high performance characteristics and narrow profile face widths of an aluminium block window with the natural feel of a timber surface finish. Seven oakwood surface finishes and a varied range of handles are available to choose from for the room side of the window.

  • Thermal insulation Uf = 1.5 – 2.0 W/(m²K)
  • RC1N/RC2N/RC2/RC3 burglar resistance in accordance with DIN EN 1627
  • Resistance to wind load: up to C5/B5 depending on the glass composition
  • Watertightness: at least 9a
  • Air permeability: Class 4
Specification
  • Schüco AWS 75 BS.HI+ WoodDesign, highly thermally insulated aluminium block window system with a timber appearance, 75 mm basic depth.

    Design features:

Integrated system with vent frame positioned behind the stop of the outer frame.
The length of the opening vent is equal to the length of the fixed glazing and/or infill.
Face-fitted vent frame on the room side rebated by 10 mm from the frame edge.
The vent profile contour is designed for the application of wood finishes on the room side.
Wood finishes must be applied using system-tested adhesive strips.

    Selection:

The wood finishes are manufactured using suitable types of timber.

    Type of timber:

Oakwood, oiled (treatment time in accordance with manufacturer specifications)
    - Rubio RMC Oil Plus 2C and Adler Legno oil
    - Timber is free from harmful substances and is certified and produced in accordance with FSC standards
    - Surfaces are polished
    - Edges are lightly broken
    - Wood moisture content 10 ... 14 %

The design and surface treatment are also specifically described in the Schüco documentation.
System partners and carpenters can be named by Schüco.

Three different handle variations are possible: a handle with a round rosette or a rectangular rosette, or a standard handle with an oval rosette.

Thermally insulating bars with three hollow chambers form the stop for the coextruded centre gasket made from microcellular rubber with a double hollow chamber.
A fin is also used to achieve improved partitioning of the thermal transfer.
The joints of the externally positioned glass retention beads are covered with a glazing gasket in a vulcanised gasket frame design.
The glazing gaskets with fins on the room side also separate the glazing rebates.

    Profile basic depths:

Outer frame, mullion, transom 75 mm
Vent frame (face-fitted window) 80 mm

    Profile face widths:

    Outer frame, bottom 66.5 mm
    Outer frame 66.5 mm
    Insert outer frame 50 mm
    Mullion 107 mm
    Transom 107 mm
    Double-vent profile 83 mm
