    Copper-Silver Ionization System - CSI - 2 Flow Cell 2 Controller Rack Mount - 2F2C

The LiquiTech® Copper-Silver Ionization System is an innovative, chemical-free disinfection solution for potable water systems. It’s designed to quickly destroy Legionella and other waterborne pathogens and achieve long-term prevention without creating harmful byproducts or damaging plumbing equipment.

This product includes 2 flow cells and 2 controllers rack mounted.

    Benefits

    • Effective: Copper-silver ionization technology is proven effective in a wide range of water conditions, temperatures, and plumbing systems, consistently outperforming chemical or oxidative alternatives to control waterborne pathogens.
    • Fast results: Our Copper-Silver Ionization System can achieve complete system disinfection in as little as 48 hours.
    • Lasting protection: Copper and silver ions provide lasting protection against waterborne pathogens. They do not dissipate quickly in hot water like chemical solutions do. Plus, they easily penetrate biofilms, destroying pathogens inside to prevent future recontamination.
    • Safe and sustainable: Copper and silver ions are safe for human consumption, do not create harmful byproducts or carcinogens, are not corrosive to plumbing, and do not require water shut-off, public health department notice, or storage of hazardous chemicals.
    • Self-controlled: Equipped with smart technology, our system modulates ion output based on current water conditions, ensuring ion concentrations are always aligned with water usage.
    • Remotely monitored: A remote monitoring system tracks and logs system data 24/7, providing real-time diagnostics, alarm notifications and resolutions, and documentation required to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.
    • Backed by science: Hundreds of independent research studies have identified copper-silver ionization as the most effective disinfectant against Legionella, with additional studies showing its effectiveness against other harmful bacteria and fungi, like Pseudomonas, Acinetobacter, Nontuberculous Mycobacteria, and Steontrophomonas.
    • Certified: The LiquiTech® Copper-Silver Ionization System is EPA-registered for Legionella control at the federal level and in all 50 states, is NSF Standard 61 certified, and approved by the ETL/UL and CE.

    How it works

The ions produced by the LiquiTech ionization process are cationic, surface-active, and a potent biocide. The treatment action is attributable to the positively charged copper and silver ions forming electrostatic bonds with negatively charged sites on microorganism cell walls. These electrostatic bonds create stresses that lead to distorted cell wall permeability, disrupting the intake of life-sustaining nutrients, and ultimately leading to cell lysis. Bacteria are killed, rather than merely suppressed as is the case with alternative Legionella treatment methods. The accurate dose-rate control system maintains precise ion levels, providing residual protection and prevention of recontamination.

Copper silver ionization has no harmful by-products, is eco-friendly, and safe. Copper silver water treatment is the safest and most eco-friendly solution to water protection. Comparatively, this method requires no chemicals, whereas hyperchlorination requires extensive dosage measurements. Hyperchlorination functions by injecting high doses of chlorine to disinfect a water system. However, research shows that approximately 70% of chlorine dioxide degrades in hot water. Therefore, you’d need to add a high concentration of 2 to 4 ppm of chlorine to sustain efficacy. Maintaining such high concentration is difficult and creates by-products which proven to be carcinogenic. During copper silver ionization, copper and silver are added into the water supply at doses of approximately 0.3-0.4 ppm, thereby preventing harmful by-products, carcinogenic risks, and negative health-related side effects.

Copper silver ionization has no corrosive effects. Most chemical solutions are proven to be corrosive to your plumbing infrastructure in the long-term, causing pinhole leaks and other costly issues that require equipment replacements. Disinfection imposes a high voltage, which may damage the lids and pumps in a system. A common misconception about copper silver ionization is that the copper ions have corrosive effects. This is simply not the case as proven by industry data time and time again (add link to data). After 25 years of successful installations, this technology has not once caused any corrosion issues. In fact, it keeps the plumbing intact to ensure longevity in the life-span of plumbing.

    Technical specifications

    • The flow cells, which house the copper silver electrodes, are manufactured using high-temperature, high-pressure, schedule 80 CPVC.
    • Electrode spacers are fabricated from DuPont PBT polyester resin. For ease of installation, periodic cleaning, and inspection, the flow cells are supplied with LiquiTech quick-connect stainless steel clamps.
    • Flow cells are available in various sizes and configurations depending upon the application.
    • Standard 150-pound flanges with 304 stainless steel nuts, bolts, and washers are also available.
    • Fittings are rated up to 300 PSI and 250F.
    • Valves are rated up to 250 PSI and 250F.
    • Vibrational resistance to accommodate shipping and installation bumps and movement significantly better than traditional solder joints.
    • Every unit is pressure tested prior to shipment in conjunction with Viega’s smart connect technology. The leak free condition is verified with digital pressure sensor monitoring for the duration of the leak test.
