ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene) is a chlorine-free thermoplastic with a positive ecological balance. Manufactured by extrusion or by calendering for the thinnest thicknesses, thermoplastic edgebands are available in several widths and thicknesses specifically matched to obtain the best degree of matching of the decor and structure with melamine and laminate panels. The quality of EGGER thermoplastic edgebands is characterized by: the harmonious and discreet finish on the edges due to the mass-colored edgebands, their resistance to rubbing due to the application of a protective lacquer on all the decors, including the plain ones, their performance in terms of gluing thanks to a lightly colored primer on the back of the edgeband to guarantee its presence and the regularity of the application throughout the roll. The coloring disappears when the product is applied. The end grain edgebands perfectly reproduce the cross-section of a tree trunk, showing the annual rings, for a very authentic result, enhanced by the RO (Rough) finish. Available in a variety of decors selected for their imitation wood veneer effect, they combine harmoniously with Feelwood structures.
PMMA (poly methyl methacrylate) edges are high quality acrylic edges. They are distinguished by their depth and transparency, superior to glass. Unlike other thermoplastic edgebands, the decoration is printed on the back of the edgeband, making the overlap seam very discreet and the decoration insensitive to beveling operations on both edges and corners (no frame effect). By nature, PMMA edges are particularly resistant to scratches and impact marks. Their processing is identical to that of other thermoplastic edgebands.
