This park sofa was originally manufactured at Lessebo Mill more than 170 years ago. The famous paper mill originated in an iron mill, which was, however, discontinued in 1886. The prosperity of the ironworks fell during the roughly half-century (1802-1856) when the Council of Ministers Johan Lorens Aschan was the owner and head of the mill. In line with rising success, Aschan acquired a number of Småland ironworks and foundries, while many new products were brought into production. Bl. a. this beautiful park sofa, which began to be manufactured around 1840. To bring life to the 170-year-old beauty is a temptation that has not been resisted. And the sofa is not only beautiful - everything in the sofa's design and dimensions breathes quality. By sticking to the original foundry technology - sand-shaped castings - at Byarum's Mill with Småland's stubbornness - we were able to resume production of the Lessebo sofa in 1988, 102 years after Lessebo's ironworks ceased.
