SP Under plaster roller shutter system

Flush-mounted systems are mainly designed for new buildings. However, once the necessary modifications to the lintel are made, these products can also be installed in existing buildings. It is important to plan the use of such solutions, this also applies to the installation method, as early as at the building design stage to allow for the effective use of the product’s functional values. Flush-mounted systems bring excellent thermal insulation performance as they do not require any modifications to the existing windows, doors or lintels, and thus do not affect the building’s energy use. What’s more, they perfectly fit the building’s façade and form an integral part thereof.

The front section of the roller-box is equally a basis for any finishing material (plaster, clinker, etc.) so that it remains an unnoticed element of the façade. Aluprof’s SP and SP-E systems are designed to ensure, first and foremost, a good protection against heat loss. This was especially appreciated by the Passive House Institute in Darmstadt (PHI), and the organization has issued a recommendation to apply both these solutions for 165 mm boxes (and smaller) in passive buildings. But it’s the proper installation in a previously insulated lintel in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines that is an essential condition here. In addition, window joinery should comply with the appropriate parameters, i.e. heat transfer coefficient of the window Uw is lower than 0.80/(m²K) while the glass pane coefficient Ug does not exceed 0.70 W/(m²K).

An additional advantage of the flush-mounted roller shutters is the ability to apply an independently-working insect screen to protect the interior from insects. As it is the case for front-mounted systems, the roller’s curtain can be made of foam-filled, plastic or extruded profiles.

Specification
  • • Functionality
The SP-E system is designed for installation in new building developments. It allows architects and designers to optimize the solutions needed. The installation of this system in existing buildings is possible after a necessary modification in the lintel. One of the options includes the use of a mosquito net enclosed in the shutter box (MOSKITO system). An integrated system ensures the independent operation of the roller shutter and mosquito net.

    • Design
Aluminium profiles and shutter boxes are manufactured of high-grade aluminium sheet double-lined with PUR-PA lacquer and have an increased resistance to abrasion and weather conditions. The filling foam provides the profiles with good thermal and acoustic insulation parameters. The shutter box is built-in under the lintel. The front of the shutter box is also
a base for any finishing material (for instance plaster, clinker brick), so it stays an invisible part of building’s facade. The elements of SP system do not interfere with the door, lintel and window construction and therefore the optimum energy balance of a building is kept.

    • Operational comfort
Roller shutters can be controlled manually or electrically with a motor coupled with the control system to provide comfortable operation.

    • Advantages
The robust design and construction of the roller shutters and good selection of materials ensure efficient protection against unwelcome guests. Furthermore, they help make buildings sound proof and better insulated, lowering temperature in summer time and costs of heating during colder seasons. Using the independent Moskito system allows for an insect-free interior while allowing in daylight and air.

    • Colour range
A large selection of standard colours meets the requirements of the most demanding customers. Colour layers are applied using powder coating technology.

    • Certificates
Components used for the production of Aluprof roller shutters are certified for conformity with the respective technical approvals and available to customers. To have access to those documents please click here and then log in to the authorised area.
