BA-FRI-DF Fire Rated Access Panel Insulated with Mud In Flange

Achieving a flawless drywall finish is now easier than ever with the BA-FRI-DF Fire-Rated Access Panel Insulated - Mud in Flange. This innovative panel, specifically designed for fire-rated walls, optimizes the drywall hanging process for both commercial and residential projects, such as:

    • Concealing access points in fire-rated walls and ceilings for electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
    • Providing discreet access panels in maintenance areas, utility closets, and other fire-rated spaces.
    • Creating fire-rated inspection hatches in elevator shafts, electrical rooms, and other restricted areas.

Crafted from 16-gauge steel by Best Access Doors, the BA-FRI-DF boasts a 2-hour fire rating, exceeding stringent safety requirements. Exposed, perforated flanges simplify the taping and mudding process, ensuring a seamless finish where only the access panel door remains visible.

    Why Choose BA-FRI-DF?

    • Simplified Mudding and Finishing: The perforated flanges readily accept drywall mud and tape for effortless application, precise placement, and a professional finish.
    • Superior Fire Protection: BA-FRI-DF is UL-certified for fire resistance, achieving a 2-hour rating on vertical wall assemblies.
    • Self-Latching Convenience: Featuring a spring mechanism, the FRI-DF ensures hands-free operation, complying with NFPA 80 standards.
    • Enhanced Installation Control: The BA-FRI-DF offers greater control over exposed joints for integration during drywall installation. Additionally, the flanges provide a guiding template for installation within existing structures.
    • Concealed Aesthetics: The perforated flanges contribute to a virtually invisible finish, with only the access panel door visible upon completion.
    • Improved Thermal Performance: Integrated mineral wool insulation enhances your application's fire rating and overall thermal properties.
    • LEED v4 Contribution: The FRI-DF can contribute towards achieving LEED certification, potentially leading to tax credits and other benefits.
    • Customizable Finish: Standard models arrive with a high-quality white powder coat primer. However, the panel door can be textured, wallpapered, or painted to match your desired décor seamlessly.
